Appreciative Inquiry
AI is a strength-based approach that allows to create change by looking on what is good & what dreams pull us forward
What is Appreciative Inquiry?
“At its heart, AI is about the search for the best in people, their organizations, and the strengths-filled, opportunity-rich world around them. AI is not so much a shift in the methods and models of organizational change, but AI is a fundamental shift in the overall perspective taken throughout the entire change process to ‘see’ the wholeness of the human system and to “inquire” into that system’s strengths, possibilities, and successes. ” (– Excerpt from: Stavros, Jacqueline, Godwin, Lindsey, & Cooperrider, David. (2015). Appreciative Inquiry: Organization Development and the Strengths Revolution. In Practicing Organization Development: A guide to leading change and transformation (4th Edition), William Rothwell, Roland Sullivan, and Jacqueline Stavros (Eds). Wiley)
This tool is not invented by me. It has been coined and developed first by David Cooperrider in the US and then by thousands of people around the world. Many books have been written and good websites are out there.

Founder of The Shady Lanes Project and member of Regen Brisbane When I started my verge garden, my reason was simple. I was fed up with mowing it. Back then, I had no idea where it would lead me. Now I think verge gardens could be the key to saving us from the worst of climate change and biodiversity loss. Big claim for unimportant little bits of land, you might say. Come on the journey and see if you change your mind. The Shady Lanes Project is about a lot more than us all planting out our little patches. It’s about bringing diverse people together to learn how to collaborate by doing. It’s about changing the way we see nature. It’s about eco-systems thinking. Most of all, it’s about learning by doing the doable - and making what’s doable grow. [ShadyLanes_verge_eastward.jpg] Find out more: Website - Substack and newsletter

Hello, wonderful to be connected with you here on this platform. Thank you for following your curiosity to read more about me. I am Vera, an inquisitive human being, eager to contribute to the #paradigmshifts that I feel are bound to happen, whether its a shift in our understanding and use of #power, our money system and the way we build our economies, or our conscious relation- and #partnershipwithnature. I believe that the change that we want to see wants to happen from the inside out, that we are asked to increase our #self-awareness in how we contribute both to the change we want to see but also acknowledge the responsibility for the damage that we inevitably create by being part of the current system and paradigm. I believe we as humans have the capacity to both construct and destruct, co-create and destroy and all these sides of us want to be integrated and used consciously to create the change we want to see. I am a psychologist by profession, appreciative inquirer by nature and working in the field of organizational and personal development. For that matter I started my own company Dare to Imagine 4 years ago. Recently I took over the lead in organizing the Create Love in Business Congress series and would love to see any synergies we can create in the overlap of this congress series and this community here. I look forward to contribute to the Doghnut Economics Action Lab. Ideally I would love to be included in any research that is happening around questions like: What would be a narrative that is strong and compelling enough to allow us to move from extraction and domination of nature to something that allows for more balance and collaboration on eye-level with nature? In that light, how does nature in intact eco-systems organize itself and the value exchanges amongst its many different species? How does it balance competition with collaboration, self-interest with altruism, etc? What could we learn from these intact and flourishing eco-systems for our economy and money system and the paradigm shift that needs to happen there? And how can all of that be practically applied? But also if you have other ideas on how we can create synergies based on your impression of me so far, please feel free to reach out to me and connect.
