When I discovered the doughnut in 2019-2020 while returning to my studies at a unique "ecology school", I immediately found it incredible!
ππ» Incredible because it presented, at a glance, a frame of reference, a guide, a compass, a course to follow in a "no man's land" of proposals, definitions, measures, policies, values, principles, indicators, supposed to define the state of the social and environmental situation as well as the way forward for us humans to live in a world that is supposed to be "safe and just".
ππ» Incredible, too, for its ambition to reconcile economy and ecology - an ambitious challenge, to say the least, and a Vast program!
ππ» Incredible, finally, because this doughnut can be eaten without moderation. π
I liked it so much that, after months of research and reflection, I turned it into the theoretical frame of reference for my bicycle tour of the world meeting positive impact / regenerative entrepreneurs : Trees On The Way!
And even better, a theoretical framework that I'll be able to observe and study in the field.
So here it is! After months of preparation and many years of thinking about doing a cycling world tour, the adventure started the 22nd of September 2023, leaving from the south of France in direction to the East, then South East Asia and if not too tired π, Americas to finish by northern Europe...

3 years on a bike meeting 21 "regenerative or tend to be" entrepreneurs, collecting and sharing best practices to write a book and hopefully make a documentary out of it!
I will be pleased to share with the people I'll meet (please feel free to reach out to me if you know some very inspirational regenerative entrepreneurs or people) the Taster or Core Tool and having discussion about it.

Why 21?
Because I wanted one entrepreneur to represent each part of the doughnut.
There are 9 planetary boundaries and 11 SDGs, so 21. :)
And to have the best positive impact as possible, 1 tree will be planted every 21 kms (21 again! ;)) at the end of the adventure with all the stakeholders and a partner expert in biodiversity in a disaster area.
To sum-up, it's a "regenerative cycling world tour meeting regenerative entrepreneurs"
