I'm the father of a teenager who will grow up in a world I fear will not be safe or supportive and could even be unliveable. The current political and economic system is behind this and appears virtually unstoppable, but an alternative must be possible. I have 30+ years of industry experience, with the last 15 fighting climate change from within the renewable energy sector - as a business leader, innovation project leader and consultant. I want to apply my energies towards a sustainable future world & Doughnut Economics offers the best vision I've seen for this. I'd like to get involved in shaping examples at a local level - and to meet others with a similar outlook!

Hi all! I'm designing a social change platform and trying to navigate a startup journey avoiding the finance traps that could hinder my governance aspirations, whilst simultaneously wrestling against the advice and attitudes that all the typical startup communities promote. I've championed B Corp and other models for years, but nothing has resonated quite so much as when I first heard Erinch speak about Doughnut Economics at Purposefest in Bristol last year, and everything I've seen/heard related to it since then utterly magnetises me (please don't invite me into a DE cult if one exists because I would quite likely join...) I'm super keen to immerse myself in these discussions and ideas to put me in good stead to build an organisation that has the most wonderful impact that it can. I'd also love to connect with some people whose eyes don't glaze over when I avidly discuss my dream governance model, or my reservations about using AI, or that I really don't want to maximise my profit by taking advantage of some loophole etc etc! But more than anything I think I just need to be part of this community to remain hopeful that there is a way through this devastating planetary overshoot and social shortfall situation as it is today.

I am a 60 year old holistic practitioner who works with horses and land. Following ten years in professional science, I lived in France for 20 years, then returned to the UK where I retrained in Reiki and Kinesiology. I subsequently founded my holistic practice in Wiltshire, working with horses, people, other animals and land. I am passionate about the environment. And have been convinced for some years that the present form of capitalism is one of the greatest threats to our, and our planet's safety. It was through the Great Simplification Podcast, Nate Hagens in conversation with Kate Raworth, that I discovered Doughnuts. And so here I am!

I am retired from paid employment, having had a number of careers in data analytics, then management consultancy, then a variety of leadership roles in UK-based charities. I've had a number of formal and informal roles working with charities and other for-benefit initiatives. Most notably having chaired three charities, and setting up Innovira to become a catalyst for developing and sharing good ideas and practices - though it is early days for this. I've lived in Bath, in the South West of England, for over 30 years, and now try to use my experience and time to support activists and thinkers who are trying to make a difference locally. The Doughnut model captures what I've thought intuitively for decades, and will hopefully be an effective model to help good decision making, and get stuff done.
