Chicago Area Doughnut Economics Coalition - Kickoff Meeting
We're starting a Doughnut Economics group for the Chicago Metropolitan Area (pop. 9.4 million).

We're starting a coalition to help promote and facilitate Chicago Area activity related to Doughnut Economics. We will encourage synergy between various existing Chicago Area organizations, and will promote a regenerative and redistributive/circular economy. We'll decide on a group name and then add the group to the DEAL organizations & networks map.
An aspirational goal – after sufficient growth of the organization – is to create one or more qualitative and/or quantitative assessments within the Chicago Area. Such assessments could be similar to DEAL Community Portrait of Place and Data Portrait of Place assessments. Geographic area possibilities for assessments include: Chicago Metropolitan Area, Chicago, Cook County, one or more Chicago suburbs, State of Illinois.
All DEAL members who want to contribute to formation of this group are welcome to participate in this event.

Can we start a Chicago DEAL coalition/group? Meet monthly or so? Can we unroll the Doughnut in Chicago? Work towards a Chicago Community Portrait of Place (DEAL tool) and/or Chicago Data Portrait of Place (DEAL tool)? Or, some other goals? Looking to connect with others interested in any of this. I've read Kate Raworth's Doughnut Economics book. I'm helping beta test a new board game, LIFE Reimagined -- includes storytelling and is based on Doughnut Economics. I'm a retired software engineer. Long-time volunteer with different environmental groups.
