After a master's in Human Resources I worked as a Headhunter for the development/ non-profit sector and then worked as an HR Generalist in a for-profit. I witnessed how corporations' focus on profit maximisation, sales, revenue and growth are governed by capitalism and have got nothing to do with social issues, the environment and socio-economic inequalities. It became apparent that ever-increasing production and consumption are considered normal whilst it isn't.  I was inspired to do another masters at UCL in Science Technology and Society which gave me perspective on the role of science and policymaking in bringing material changes in the world. I tried transitioning into social research and projects but had a tough time. I enjoyed reading the work of Mariana Mazzucato, Kate Raworth, Jason Hickel as it resonates with my concerns and answers some of today's pressing problems. While I continue to be a Human Resources professional my mind is occupied with the problems of the 21st Century. I feel everyone on the planet should have the opportunity to contribute to such issues. I'd love to be a part of the DEAL Community and connect with like minds. I hope to learn ways in which professionals across fields could contribute towards maintaining the planetary boundaries in an equitable fashion.

I'm a sustainability communications specialist and entrepreneur. Founder of the sustainability consultancy Petrichor Planet and creator of the impact-tech platform Pla:ngo.  Pla:ngo is designed to effectively connect corporations with NGOs and innovations for the SDGs aligned to business goals. I believe cross-sector partnerships are the way of the future and we must create more successful solutions for collaboration. I've joined the DEAL community to connect with like-minded people and find new ways of collaborating and ideating for solutions for the future.

Hello, I'm Francine, I like to think of myself as a circular thinker. This mindset has brought me curiosity and encouraged me to question conventional thinking. My eagerness for knowledge has provided me with opportunities to challenge the conventional linear patterns we often follow as a society. Doughnut Economics book was one of those wake-up calls. As an expert in sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategies, I co-founded Conexus.Earth in Australia, a consultancy that guides businesses to track their sustainability/ESG commitments with powerful methodologies and tools to build the journey to make actions. I strongly believe that when we align methodologies and tools, we have the power to transform ideas into impactful actions. It's about picking up a pencil and drafting out fresh insights, connecting all the dots across environmental, social, and governance aspects in a collaborative way.
