When business meets the Doughnut
To meet the needs of all people within the means of the living planet, Doughnut Economics poses some big challenges for businesses. The business world will need to embrace bold and ambitious solutions that are both regenerative and distributive.
To make this possible, we will need to transform the deep design of business: its purpose and networks, how it is governed and owned and the nature of its relationship with finance.
This talk by DEAL's Business & Enterprise lead, Erinch Sahan, and hosted by the Wellbeing Economic Alliance (WEAll) will explore ideas and models for achieving the needed transformations in business to help humanity into the Doughnut.

Hello there đź‘‹ I'm the Digital Platform Lead here at DEAL, which means I lead the design, development and management of this website, the DEAL Community Platform. Â My professional background is in game development as a programmer. I'm interested in using play to help people explore important and complex topics. Â I'm also a freelance writer covering the games industry, technology and climate change I've been involved in the fossil fuel divestment movement as a campaigner, combining the need for climate action with tangible steps towards a more regenerative economic system. Â I also helped found the game workers branch of the IWGB - the UK's first trade union dedicated to empowering and improving the rights of workers in the games industry.

I am a filmmaker and communications professional with a decade of visual storytelling experience. I founded Cape Creative in 2014 for my side freelance work, and eventually built it into the full production company it is today. Prior to working at Cape Creative full-time, I worked at national and international agencies: Blue State Digital, The Biscuit Factory, and GMR Marketing. I created visual stories for major brands including Comcast, Microsoft, Lowe’s, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and I helped create content for causes like Freedom to Marry and Shatterproof, an organization working to reverse the addiction crisis in the U.S.  I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Marquette University, where I was a three-sport Division I athlete. I also hold a master’s degree in Geography & the Environment from the University of Oxford. My master’s thesis on feminist geographies, which received a distinction, was used by the Obama White House to develop its policy around sexual assault on college campuses. I live in Barcelona with my better half, Katie, who also works in the communications industry.        Â
