Please Note: This event has now finished and can no longer be joined.
This free online event, part of the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce Festival of Business, will introduce the model, and how Cornwall Council have adapted it to inform decision-making throughout the organisation.
You will learn more about the model, how it works, the benefits and challenges it can bring and how to find support to develop the idea to suit your own organisation.
The event is hosted by Peter Lefort, Sector & Partnerships Lead for Cornwall Council's Carbon Neutral Cornwall programme.

Thanks very much for the Action Lab. I am currently exploring how to integrate the Doughnut and Embedded Economy models within the following areas in Business: * the Business Case for Programmes and Projects (e.g. UK Green Book)? * Integrated Management Systems with ISO 9001 related standards? * Sustainable Community based upon ISO 37101 and relation to the doughnut * the EFQM Model? * B-Corporation Certifications? * Systems engineering related areas. The people working with these models and standards already have an understanding of models and have their own internal audiences within organizations. I'm interested in collaborating with any people also looking at these areas.

After studying an MSc in Global Prosperity at UCL, I am now working as a policy officer for the London Borough of Waltham Forest. I'm interested in local government and the change it can bring, especially around local action for climate change and social justice.

I am a chartered structural engineer who, in last several years, has held more multi-disciplinary design team leadership roles. I advocate for best practice in design and implementation throughout the built environment with a keen focus on sustainable (environmental, economic and social) development, and beyond resilient design. My project work has been diverse but has included a significant amount of healthcare related projects, and I have been supporting the promotion of healthy lifestyles in the built environment through planning and design. I am also a WELL AP. Disaster mitigation and disaster risk reduction are also key areas of interest. I am originally from the Caribbean region – an area particularly susceptible to natural hazards, such as hurricanes & earthquakes, & increasingly vulnerable because of the climate crisis, all hazards I have addressed in my work. My career has meant I have been based in Barbados, United Kingdom, Belgium, Turkey, Qatar, and The Netherlands.
