(This is session 1 of 2. Click here for session 2 of 2 that will be at 16:30 UK time)
Grassroots groups and networks create so much value for their community and their place, and yet much of this value is hard to quantify through the institutional eyes of funders and local government.
If this challenge sounds familiar to you, then join us for this peer-to-peer exploration into how we might measure the holistic value we create as grassroots groups and networks.
We will share the big questions most alive for us right now, the insights we've gained from our work (and the work of others), as well as the resources we're aware of that can further our explorations.
This is one of two sessions. Please use the link above to register and you'll receive a zoom link to join.
If you would know more about the session, or if you have any access requirements, please email Rob Shorter rob@doughnuteconomics.org, Communities & Art Lead at DEAL, who will be facilitating.

Hopefully well-rounded human, working at continuously learning to be better at it. I work in arts & culture by passion & desire, and in web development and management by fluke and ability to sustain my family. I revel in being a grandma, and love wandering among ancient trees and waterways. Helping my community move in thoughtful, progressive directions is where I spend my volunteer time, though there are so many ways that can happen I struggle to find a clear focus. I'm fascinated and invigorated by this concept of doughnut economics, and am excited to broaden my scope of understanding to be able to help my community embrace and implement it.

Can we start a Chicago DEAL coalition/group? Meet monthly or so? Can we unroll the Doughnut in Chicago? Work towards a Chicago Community Portrait of Place (DEAL tool) and/or Chicago Data Portrait of Place (DEAL tool)? Or, some other goals? Looking to connect with others interested in any of this. I've read Kate Raworth's Doughnut Economics book. I'm helping beta test a new board game, LIFE Reimagined -- includes storytelling and is based on Doughnut Economics. I'm a retired software engineer. Long-time volunteer with different environmental groups.
