Doughnut Economics #Research-for-action gathering (Asia-Pacific)
Connecting scholar-activists to amplify Doughnut Economics research and to mobilise evidence for transformative action

(This is the second of two gatherings and it will be held at a more convenient time for the Asia-Pacific region. For the first gathering, which will be held at a more convenient time for the Americas, click here)
Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL) welcomes you to join this peer-learning space exploring ways to deepen and amplify Doughnut Economics research, and to push for transformative action in line with research evidence.
The gathering will be hosted by Andrew Fanning, DEAL’s Research & Data Analysis Lead, and it will build on our previous #research-for-action peer gathering in October 2024. We will continue to follow a gathering format where everyone will have space to share their experiences, insights and questions on how to strengthen links between research and action.
In particular, an aim for this session is to make some collective choices on logistics and practical details for the ongoing functioning of this peer-learning research network, such as potential communication channels, frequency of gatherings, ways of collaborating, and other matters arising.
The spirit of these peer learning spaces is that there's no single ‘expert’ and we're all here as learners. We will all have something to contribute, whether that be to listen, to reflect, to share your personal experience or to share some ideas.
If you would like to attend, you can register here to receive the zoom link.
Upon registration (via zoom) you will receive an email confirmation. Please use the link in the email to add the event to your calendar. We will contact you with additional details and additional resources to start sharing examples, insights and questions.
If at any stage you realise you can’t attend, please cancel your registration via the link in your confirmation email.
Thank you for your interest in connecting with scholar-activist peers to explore research for action with Doughnut Economics – we look forward to learning with you!

Founder of The Shady Lanes Project and member of Regen Brisbane When I started my verge garden, my reason was simple. I was fed up with mowing it. Back then, I had no idea where it would lead me. Now I think verge gardens could be the key to saving us from the worst of climate change and biodiversity loss. Big claim for unimportant little bits of land, you might say. Come on the journey and see if you change your mind. The Shady Lanes Project is about a lot more than us all planting out our little patches. It’s about bringing diverse people together to learn how to collaborate by doing. It’s about changing the way we see nature. It’s about eco-systems thinking. Most of all, it’s about learning by doing the doable - and making what’s doable grow. [Image] Find out more: Website - Substack and newsletter
