California Doughnut 1st Meetup (Past)

First meetup for Californians excited about a Doughnut economy in the Golden State.

It's an audacious idea, but let's put our heads together and think about what a Doughnut Economy might look like in the Great State of California.

If you have expertise, or curiosity, or just hope - please join.  No more waiting, let's just jump in together.

Details: Thursday November 12, 5:30-7pm via Zoom or similar.
We will postpone if American democracy is falling apart on the 12th.
Register on eventbrite with this link

Please message me if you'd like to help organize - we'll pretend we know what we are doing together.

**Update from Monday November 9:  More than 30 RSVPs so far!  And American democracy seems to be holding strong!  Very excited for our meeting.  I will send around some additional details to all those that have registered later today.

****Update Tuesday November 10:  We passed 50 RSVPs - this is gonna be a good party.  3 updates:
  1. The wonderful Della Duncan has agreed to help me with facilitation
  2. I was advised to extend the meeting from 60 to 90 minutes - a really good suggestion.  So we will meet from 5:30 to 7:00pm
  3. Please check out this prep work so we can have a productive meeting:
    1. Background: If you haven’t already, watch TED talk and review introductory info here: https://doughnuteconomics.org/about-doughnut-economics
    2. Watch this intro video that discusses downscaling the Doughnut from a global concept to one for cities (and maybe a state?!): https://youtu.be/YCqGf7T9ABo
    3. Come to the meetup with:
      1. In a 5 word sentence or less: What is your vision for California?
      2. A virtual background that shows how the Doughnut for California might look for you.

Planning on being there, but looks like the event is sold out on eventbrite? Also happy to volunteer my zoom if necessary since it's a paid account

I’m traveling that day so might not make it but I’m interested in connecting with people in California who are interested in donut economics.
