I am an undergraduate student studying the environment and communications/media at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I came across DEAL's work in January 2023 and deeply believe in the economic and social system it proposes for our future.

My 20y+ international career is quite diverse (science, space, infrastructure,...). I am currently working as a sustainability freelance consultant in Portugal and I have spent the last 10y working on social impact and sustainability in infrastructure in the UK.  I have realised that to really remove barriers to training and decent work you have to change the system, that seems rigged against those who should be serving. I have been looking for ideas and people that can help me change the system and learnt about regeneration - healing our planet and people and Doughnut Economics. Lifelong interest in the environment and how we fit within the biosphere. Discovered the concept of Doughnut Economics while studying for my Masters degree, incorporating it into my thesis. DE brings both optimism - showing us how we can live good lives without damaging our natural world - and urgency to create change.

I held my first Doughnut Economics talk in January, with support from Oxfordshire Doughnut Economics Collective, in Bampton Library. We are having a follow-on meeting later this week (February 13). In the first meeting we completed the 'Unrolling the Doughnut' activity which generated lots of ideas. The purpose of this next meeting is to see how we can action these ideas and set up our local group. I am excited to be a part of this growing collective and feel the model offers a practical and effective way to monitor what we do, why we do it and what impact we are having.

I am an organisational  inclusion strategist, working to support leadership with and behavioural change at individual, team, and systems levels. I do that with my own consultancy Unheard Voice. I use ( ) as a foundation for this work. This is an academically robust approach to inclusive behaviours- if you're high in CQ you behave inclusively. It can be a missing link taking some of the guesswork out of the culture and values questions in the DE model. Before working full-time in inclusion, I did it part-time, within my Consultancy.  My career for 30 years before this was working in broadcast journalism as a journalist and leader. My mission is giving the unheard voice a place to speak.
