🌿 Regen Gippsland is a platform for ambitious collaboration in service to our region. Powered by a growing alliance of organisations.
During 2023, Regen Gippsland's focus was to channel the collective energy of the Gippsland community to co-create a resilient vision and purpose. Over 100 Gippslanders have generously volunteered their time, contributing to this collaborative effort through various avenues such as a Local Learning Lab, three engaging Community Co-design Forums, a strategy day with the Regen Gippsland Advisory Group, and casual chats with many individuals 🌟
This inclusive process underscores the heart of our community-driven approach, ensuring that the vision reflects the diverse voices and aspirations.Â
A key aspiration from our community forums was to introduce the concept of Doughnut Economics and explore how it could be localised and used as a compass for Gippsland. Our purpose is to move Gippsland into the safe and just space of the Gippsland Doughnut 🍩
✨ On 21s March we launched the first version of our localised Gippsland Doughnut with the community. It was a truly fabulous day... you can watch the recording here 💫
In the same month we also launched our Community Insights Report. Whooohooo!!Â

Hi 👋🏼 I'm Alex and I live with my young family including three cheeky chickens in a small town in Gippsland. I love spending time in nature, especially hiking at Wilson's Prom. In a previous life I taught corporate English in Spain and developed teaching material for books and an online language platform. Now, as the Community Lead @ Regen Gippsland I'm looking forward to connecting with the DEAL community 🍩 and putting Gippsland on the map 🌏

Founder of The Shady Lanes Project and member of Regen Brisbane When I started my verge garden, my reason was simple. I was fed up with mowing it. Back then, I had no idea where it would lead me. Now I think verge gardens could be the key to saving us from the worst of climate change and biodiversity loss. Big claim for unimportant little bits of land, you might say. Come on the journey and see if you change your mind. The Shady Lanes Project is about a lot more than us all planting out our little patches. It’s about bringing diverse people together to learn how to collaborate by doing. It’s about changing the way we see nature. It’s about eco-systems thinking. Most of all, it’s about learning by doing the doable - and making what’s doable grow. [ShadyLanes_verge_eastward.jpg] Find out more: Website - Substack and newsletter
