Yancey Strickler is a writer and entrepreneur. He’s the founder of The Bento Society, the cofounder of Kickstarter, the cofounder of the artist resource The Creative Independent, a Distinguished Fellow at the Drucker Institute, and the author of This Could Be Our Future: A Manifesto for a More Generous World. He began his career as a music critic in New York City writing for Pitchfork, Spin, and The Village Voice, and he started the record label eMusic Selects. He’s an angel investor in startups Hopin, Mati, Realtime, System, Wren, and others, and he coaches and advises founders. Yancey grew up on a farm in Clover Hollow, Virginia, and lives with his family in British Columbia.
