Doughnut Economics About DEAL News & Updates Meet the DEAL Team Careers FAQ Wider Movement Contact UsI am a pharmacist, PhD from the University of Paris-Saclay, director of research at the French Institute of Research for Development (IRD), member of PharmaDev associating IRD with the University of Toulouse. For 39 years, I have been conducting research on natural substances isolated from Amazonian biodiversity (plants and insects), active against infectious agents (Helicobacter, Salmonella, Staphyloccocus, Aeromonas) and parasites (Leishmania, Plasmodium).
My job as a researcher has led me to be interested in the future of wild biodiversity, especially in the Amazon, and in the human societies that live there. I wish to contribute to the reflections which allow to integrate its needs in a sustainable world economy based on the respect of our mother earth and the social rights of the underprivileged.
