About Tools
Introducing tools - empowering people to explore the ideas of Doughnut Economics and put them into practice.
What is a tool?
A tool guides and empowers people to turn Doughnut Economics from a radical idea into transformative action.
Exploratory in scope
Rather than proposing specific policies and institutions, tools offer exploratory workshops, activities, lesson plans, methodologies, and more.Guiding with content
Tools serve as how-to guides, with clear steps describing: what can be done with the tool, how to do it, and important things to consider or watch out for.Evolving with practice
Tools are based on things people have already tried. They're designed to be used, adapted and shared back so everyone can benefit from learnings and improvements. What makes for a great tool?
A great tool contains all the key information someone might need to try it out.
They provide depth, but can be summarised with a simple-yet-engaging title, description and image.

Can I share my tool?
If you have a way of putting Doughnut Economics into practice, we’d love for you to share it, so long as you follow a few principles and guidelines.
Build on Doughnut Economics
Tools should explicitly describe how they can be used to put the ideas of Doughnut Economics - and not just ‘new economics’ more generally - into practice.Ready to share your tool? Join the DEAL Community (it's quick and free!) to get started.
How can I use other people's tools?
